Note: The following guidance applies to both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals who test positive for COVID-19.
STUDENTS

- These guidelines apply to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
- Do not attend class or work if you have a fever. Stay home and away fron others (including people you live with who are not sick.).
- Wear a mask and put distance between yourself and others to help lower the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
- Practice good hygene by covering your coughs and sneezes, washing or sanitizing your hands often, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces.
- Take steps for cleaner air. This can meaning bringing in fresh outside air, purifying indoor air, or gathering outdoors.

- Please contact Schiffert Health Center at 540-231-6444 with immediate questions.
- If you have symptoms, you can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
- Your symptoms are getting better overall, AND
- You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).
Quarantine/isolation: For the 2024-25 academic year, 午夜影院福利社 will not operate a COVID-19 quarantine and isolation program. It is important for students to work with families to develop an advanced COVID-19 plan should they become infected with COVID-19. As with any communicable disease, the Schiffert Health Center and the Dean of Students Office will work closely with students to implement their plan — or discern alternative solutions as needed.

What should I do if I'm notified that I'm a close contact with a positive case?

These guidelines apply to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
If you do not have symptoms but have been exposed to COVID-19:
- Monitor yourself for symptoms.
- Test yourself 5 full days after you were exposed, even if you don鈥檛 have symptoms. You can use an at-home rapid antigen test.
- If you test positive, upload your results to the聽.聽Follow guidelines for Positive Cases outlined above.聽
- If your antigen test is negative, take another antigen test after 48 hours and continue to follow precautions.
- If your second antigen test is also negative, wait another 48 hours and test a third time.
- Continue to practice core prevention strategies: good hygiene, taking steps for cleaner air, wearing a mask and physically distancing yourself from others.
If you have symptoms and were exposed to COVID-19:
- Do not attend class or work if you have a fever.Stay home and away from others (including people you live with who are not sick).
- Wear a high-quality mask if you must be around others at home and in public.
- Test immediately.
- You may contact Schiffert to schedule a COVID-19 test OR obtain a rapid antigen test to complete at home.
- If you use an at-home rapid test and test negative, take another rapid antigen test after 48 hours.
- If you test positive for COVID-19, email your results to聽. Follow guidelines for Positive Cases outlines above.
- If you test negative for COVID-19, but have symptoms of a respiratory viral illness, you should follow guidelines for Positive Cases.

Where do I get a COVID-19 test if I have been exposed or told I am a close contact?
If you are not experiencing any symptoms, you may pick-up rapid antigen test kits at Schiffert Health Center when you present your Hokie Passport. Students experiencing symptoms may call Schiffert Health Center (540-231-6444) to schedule an appointment for testing.
Under what circumstances will a student need to activate their COVID-19 plan?
Students living on campus should activate their plan if they have symptoms after an exposure, or if they test positive for COVID-19. Students should contact the Dean of Students office聽 at 540-231-3787 with questions relating to activating their COVID-19 plan.

What are my leave options if I need to isolate myself at home after exposure to COVID-19?
Employees that are ineligible for remote work and need to quarantine due to a known exposure to COVID-19 must use their available personal, annual, or compensatory leave to cover the absence.
Employees who test positive for COVID-19, and become symptomatic or ill, should use sick leave or other available personal leave. If necessary and eligible, employees can also file a short-term disability claim.

For both symptomatic and non-symptomatic employees:
